Thigh Lift Surgery: Firmer and More Refined Inner Legs
Sagging and loosening in the inner leg area is a serious source of discomfort for many people, both aesthetically and functionally. Legs rubbing against each other while running or walking, restricting clothing choices and general body dissatisfaction show how important this area is. Thigh lift surgery offers a surgical solution to these problems.
Why Does Sagging Occur in the Inner Leg?
The inner leg skin consists of thinner and more elastic tissue compared to other parts of the body. Therefore, the following conditions particularly affect this area:
- Skin that loses its elasticity after large weight losses
- Loosening of connective tissue and skin with age
- Recurrent cycles of weight gain and loss
- genetic predisposition
In any of these cases, diet and exercise cannot remove the existing excess skin; Only surgical intervention offers a real and permanent solution.
How is Thigh Lift Surgery Performed?
The operation is performed under general anesthesia and usually requires a 1-night hospital stay. The incision location is determined according to the degree and distribution of sagging:
Horizontal Incision Technique (Medial Thigh Lift)
The incision is in the form of a horizontal line extending from the groin to the inner thigh. It primarily targets the upper inner thigh area. The scar is extremely less visible because it is hidden in the groin fold. Ideal for mild to moderate sagging.
Vertical Incision Technique (Vertical Thigh Lift)
It is preferred for heavy sagging and looseness extending to the inner side of the knee. A vertical incision is made extending from the groin to the knee. A larger region recovers; but the scar is kept longer.
If necessary, liposuction can be applied in the same session to remove both excess fat and skin sagging. This combination gives extremely satisfactory results.
"My patients who benefit most from thigh lift surgery are individuals who have experienced great weight loss and a significant sagging in their inner legs. When they say 'I can wear shorts now' or 'My legs are no longer rubbing while walking' after the surgery, I concretely see the impact of this operation on their quality of life."

Recovery Process
Although it is possible to walk for the first few days, heavy activities should be restricted. Swelling and bruising are greatly reduced in 2-3 weeks. Corset or compressive clothing is recommended for 4-6 weeks. Exercises can be started gradually after the 6th week. The scars remain hidden in the groin fold and fade over time. The final result is clearly seen within 6 months.
Combined Options
Thigh lift can be combined with tummy tuck, arm lift or 360° Body Lift as part of a comprehensive body transformation, especially after major weight losses. The timing and safety of these combinations are determined by individual evaluation.
